Course Description

 

The Medication Technician course is designed for Certified Nurse Assistants in nursing homes who would like to increase their skills and learn to administer medications. This challenging course meets Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services guidelines. Successful graduates receive state certification in administration of non-parenteral medications. Practice in administering medications is provided through classroom labs, as well as supervised experience in the student's own facility. Applicants must be Certified Nurse Assistant in Missouri, must pass the TABE test (given at the Career and Technology Center), and be a high school graduate or equivalent prior to the start of the course. Must be active on the Missouri State Registry for 6 months prior to class.
